According to Vedomosti newspaper, the Big Three operators (Russian MTS, Vympelkom AKA Beeline and Megafon) are ready to offer iPhones in Russia without any service contracts.
Last week MobileTeleSystems signed an agreement with Apple Inc about iPhone mobiles distribution. Vympelkom and Megafon made that a little bit earlier. All operators announced, that the’ll begin to sell iPhones till the end of the year, approximately in the fall of September or in October. According to the agreements signed, Vympelkom and Megafon must sell 3 million iPhones each one for two years , and MTS – 1 millon in three years.
The contracts allow Apple Inc to control all the operator’s movements that consider to iPhone sells. The only one thing operators can manage by themselves is to sell iPhines with the contract or not.

Russia based iPhone application developer Rashid (rashn) have decided to prove the lite-version theory, that was described a little bit earlier. To investigate it, he published a lite version of aBalls Lite game, that was previewed on our site about a week ago.
The results have completely confirmed the theory. aBalls Lite is conquering the top-lists of app sales in USA (now it’s on 76th place after 86th and 93rd). As to the commercial version of the game – it slides down from the sales peak.

A rumors about coming iTunes 8 appeared on TUAW portal.

The employees of the first companies are as silent as fishes, but we got at least one comment from MTS. Our source said, that “There will be no competition of any kind in the price policy”.
Apple is famous for making all the operators do what only Apple wants. Just look at the Maczone and Deepstore. This two independent companies have set just the same prices on Macs. These rumors are partially confirmed by the recent news about Megafon and MTS press-releases.
It looks like all the operators will announce the same connection prices. The winner will be the operator, who will success to establish the best contact with the common customer.
