Aurora Feint is not a spy

25.07.2008 | AppStore, News | by Apaxuc

The scandal around the game from AppStore, Aurora Feint, stealing the contacts was basically made out of thin air. Yes, the program does copy your contacts, but for a purpose. The game has a function nobody knows about. The game loads your contacts to the server so you can find people on your contact list who also play the game and add them to your friends list.

Obviously you don’t want your contacts to be stored somewhere on the internet. But now things are set straight and Aurora’s name is cleared of all charges. They just wanted it to be useful. And we can only blame AppStore for allowing this function to be present and not removing it at the development stage.

Update by zerto: IMHO you need to inform the users about such things and not deal with the “spy” mess afterwards.
